- Thu is Vietnamese/American and I am American. We met in 1974 in Cambodia,while working for the US Embassy and Thu had recently moved there from Saigon. We married in 1975. Before I left, I convinced Thu to become my wife. At that time, I had to promise her, one day we would return to Vietnam to live. It was the only way she would accept; yes, she was hard headed even back then! Thanks to the 'never quit' attitude of my wife we managed to open our own business, called Russ & Thu Uupholstery. Our business was quite successful and 25 years later, in the year 2000, I was able to fulfill my promise to my wife and we moved to Vietnam. Now our life is content, Thu is back home in the country she loves and I (surprisingly) found I love to teach. Now I spend most of my free time researching, creating lesson plans in an attempt to make learning English as easy as possible, and I would like to use this blog to share some lessons and videos with you. So now that our biography is out of the way, let’s get on with the more interesting parts.
